The ANTA winery was launched by the Ortega family, who realized their dream to start building a winery on 580 acres of their own vineyards in 1999. Ten years later, in June 2009, with the incorporation of the actor Antonio Banderas in the company, the winery was renamed ANTA BANDERAS. The ANTA philosophy since its inception in 1999, was one of action: to design and customize wines from the vineyard, whose development process begins with the first day of the agricultural calendar. Thus, the need for a prior knowledge of the full nature of winemaking and the environment of research, methodology, tradition and innovation was established and since then a healthy practice of wine culture, rich in contrasts, has been nurtured at ANTA. With this premise, the philosophy of wine is designed to extract the maximum taste of our local terroir and fruit, which has led to strengthening and consolidation of ANTA’s 580 acres of vineyard in two distinct areas: Villalba and Nava, where mountain viticulture is practiced. ANTA is committed to the environment, and recycles all glass materials.

Tasting Notes

It is a wine which seeks maximum fruit expression. The fruit compote is present in true harmony between the range of red fruits (strawberries, raspberries, red currants), and blue fruit (blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants and plums). If we add a touch of exotic hardwood (French and American) with ripening period of four months, the result is this magnificent wine.

It is the flagship of the house. A wise integration of Tempranillo (dominant), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Ten months in French oak barrels (four of the highest quality cooperage) gives an exquisite touch of harmony and elegance. Fruit set on a roasted spices bed and with considerable complexity. The result: an elegant and unique Ribera.

Our aR has the most fruity smell and finest taste of the Ribera del Duero. This is a wine with a powerful bouquet and strawberry color with attractive blue trim and red fruit aromas, strawberry syrup and exotic fruits. It is cheerful in the entry into the mouth and composes an intense and comprehensive tasting tour. This wine excels by its outstanding acidity and freshness, is an easy drinking, rose wine, ideal for an aperitif in spring and summer. It is ideal at temperatures between 8 and 12 degrees.
