Bodegas El Lagar de Isilla, S.A.

Bodegas El Lagar de Isilla has produced and marketed D.O. Ribera del Duero wine since 1995. A unique wine concept, El Lagar de Isilla combines different philosophies: enotourism, gastronomy and winemaking. The company owns a traditional Castilian restaurant in the city center of Aranda de Duero, where you can enjoy delicious roasted lamb and other specialties from the region. Under the restaurant, 12 meters below, lies the historic Wine Cellar Museum from the 15th Century, open to visitors year round. The modern winery, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and site of all current vinfication, is located in the village of La Vid, 18 kilometers away from Aranda de Duero. The winery owns close to 100 acres of vineyards planted in clay-sandy soil; half of the vines are young, and the other half are 50 to 80 years old. Production is limited, with 8 bunches left on each plant. Hand-picked, the winery uses a double sorting table, one before the de-stemmer to sort the bunches, and following to sort the berries. Current production is between 240,000 and 270,000 kilograms of Tempranillo (or Tinta del País).
