The different “bodegas” and the variety of vineyards in Rueda, Ribera del Duero and Toro controlled by the Yllera family are surely the most identifying elements of this company, who has taken advantage of each one of these areas and terroirs in order to make high quality wines with unique personalities. The Yllera family, the 6th generation of vine growers and wine producers, together with an oenologist from “La Rioja” Ramón Martinez, are the owners of Grupo Yllera. This is a group of wineries established in the heart of Castilla y León region, the geographic area alongside the Duero River. The continuous and large investments in technology, oak barrels, and an exhaustive and careful grape selection have consolidated Grupo Yllera as a leading company in both domestic and export markets with new projects in different wine areas such as Toro, Rioja or even Mendoza, Argentina. The winery located in the D.O. Ribera del Duero in Boada de Roa (Burgos) has produced magnificent, elegant and sophisticated red wines since 1986. The Viña del Val brand is produced by this winery.

Tasting Notes

Attractive dark cherry-red colour with bluepurple tints. Powerful on the nose with ripe red berry fruit aromas (mulberries and redcurrants) together with subtle complex aromas coming from the oak (vanilla, spices and roasted coffee beans). Fullbodied on the palate with a soft, velvety texture. A long finish with wild red berry fruit and vanilla flavours coming through at the end.

Tasting Notes

Attractive, dark cherry-red colour with ruby glints. Clean on the nose with fruit aromas mingling well with the oak (notes of vanilla, toast, spices, liquorice and truffles). Great structure in the palate, fleshy, soft, expressive and full, with sweet, wellintegrated tannins. A great lingering finish.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant and deep black cherry red colour with intense blue - purple glints, showing a classic and typical top class “Ribera del Duero” young wine style. Powerful on the nose with a great variety of red and forest fruit aromas and with an exotic floral touch (violets) coming through. There is a fresh attack with a good backbone and a long finish.
