Founded in 2000, this exquisite 72-acre estate of 20 to 70-year old Tinto Fino vineyards in Anguix belongs to the Romero de la Cruz family, longtime growers who brought in technical consultant Eduardo Garcia (son of Mariano Garcia, Bodegas Mauro) to make their own wine rather than simply sell the grapes as they had always done. Located at the end of Anguix Burgos, Los Astrales produces wines of great depth, purple-colored with enticing perfumes of toasted oak, pencil lead, mineral, blackberry, and licorice.
