Bodegas Montevannos, S.L.

Bodegas Montevannos, S.L. was established in the year 1987. It is located in Baños de Valdearados (Burgos), a rich and generous land in the highest area of Ribera del Duero. It stands next to a 2,000-year-old ancient Roman site, renowned for a major archaeological find, a 60-meter mosaic of Bacchus unearthed in 1972. The vineyards cover approximately 740 acres. Three quarters of the terrain was planted prior to 1950 with the Tinta Fina grape variety (Tempranillo). Montevannos owns 120 acres of the Tinta Fina and Merlot varieties placed at over 2,950 feet above sea level. This fact, along with the thorough and constant care of each vine, the meticulousness in picking the best grapes during the harvest season, and the climatic and soil conditions of the Ribera are all essential factors in the growing and ripening process of Montevanno’s grapes and contribute to giving their wines unique character and strong personality.
