Bodegas Pico Cuadro S.L.

Pico Cuadro is a family-owned winery located in Ribera del Duero boasting a style that is entirely its own. Its wines are elegant and dynamic, with a fantastic texture in mouth. Felipe Castrillo, the oenologist in charge of cellar management, started this endeavor in 2004. He selects vineyards from the best viticultural areas on the Duero River. At present, work is done on 12.35 acres, split up into 14 different plots or ‘pagos.’ The stalks of our youngest vineyards are no less than 20 years old, while the oldest are pre-phyloxera, over 90 years old. We use a vessel-like irrigation system, and have a landscape of dry-soil slopes, ravines facing the valley, and sandy plains. This diversity means that the ‘pagos’ vary greatly. All of them bear remarkable names from the Middle Ages: Zunbrin, Carraquintana, Mazalcastaño, Carrahontoria, Valdaya, el Arenal, Taurete, and Fuente Salud.
