Old vines

Bodegas Rodero is one of the most prestigious wineries located at the heart of the Ribera del Duero. The average age of the vines is 30 years – the youngest of which are 10 years old, while the oldest are more than 70 years old. The native varietal, Tinta del país (Tempranillo), occupies the lion’s share of the area, 90%, followed by 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1%. Merlot. With our growing techniques, we strive to achieve the maximum concentration in each grape, never exceeding 1.5 tons per acre. The grapes are carefully sorted before they reach the tanks. Carmelo Rodero patented and built a fermenting room to enable him to extract the very best out of his grapes using only gravity, without the need for pumps.
