Located in Langa de Duero (Soria), Bodegas Valdeviñas owns 50 acres of 10-year old vines and 124 acres of 50-year old vines. The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 880 m on sandy, alkaline soils with boulders.

Tasting Notes

Varietal 100% Tempranillo from vines over 80 years old. Langa de Duero’s vineyards, harvested during the first week of October at 20º – 21º C. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in new French oak barrels for 14 months. This vintage was very complicated due to the drought and the high temperatures in July and August, but in the two weeks before the harvest the weather conditions were suitable for the vines, with a wide temperature contrast between night and day. That let the grapes have a good ripening for this great wine to be elaborate. Better after a good decantation.

Varietal 100% Tempranillo from our own Langa de Duero’s vines situated in alluvial soil at an altitude of 840 m. The harvest was done the 29th September at 19º-20º C. Vinification in exclusive temperature-controlled-concrete vats. Ageing in one or two year-old French oak barrels for 12 months. The 2003 vintage was very difficult during the grape development in sprint and summer due to the drought. However, the good weather conditions two weeks before the harvest let us achieve this exceptional elaboration.

Varietal 100% Tempranillo from vines over 80 years old, harvested during the first days of October 2004, at an average of 23-24ºC. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in new French oak barrels for 14 months. 2004 was exceptional for the vegetative cycle of the vines, especially because of the large day-to-night temperature swing in summer and, most of all, during the month before harvest. That let us make a high qualitative wine with a powerful structure, what ensures a great ageing capacity. Its complex bouquet is its supreme quality. Better after a good decantation.
