The story of Bodegas Viña Vilano begins in the year 1957 when the parents and grandparents of our current members founded the cooperative. By combining the fruit of their already old vineyards, the winery now benefits from rare, older rootstock. At first, the capacity of the cellar held 300,000 kg. of grapes. Today, its capacity reaches over 2,600,000 kg., which gives an idea of the expansion undergone by Viña Vilano, constantly involved in an improving and updating process. Yet in order to better understand our project, our vocation for the future and our willingness for a job well done, it is essential to know, to understand and to love this unique product: wine. Bodegas Viña Vilano invites you to enter into the exciting world of the red wine making. Bodegas Viña Vilano is located in the village of Pedrosa de Duero, province of Burgos, internationally regarded as the most privileged wine-growing region within D.O. Ribera del Duero, with the oldest vines dating back to 1957. Currently, Bodegas Viña Vilano owns over 740 acres of Tinta Fina or Tinta del País grapes, a local strain of the world renowned Tempranillo. This represents a production of 2 million kg. of top quality grapes per harvest. Over the last few years, the winery has installed state-of-the-art wine-making technology and built a cask ageing facility that holds American, French and Central European oak casks to produce the top qualities of our VIÑA VILANO range, made in the following categories: Joven, Roble, Crianza and Reserva.

Tasting Notes

We see the wine with a very high colour intensity that perfectly conserves live tones, with a great content of glycerine. The aroma of this wine emphasizes by its enormous complexity, conserves mature fruit and assembled floral tones with a great variety of spices, tones of dry fruits, toasted and coffee. Clean wood that respects the wine and heightens its harmony. It is an explosion of very concentrated aromas. In mouth we found its great singularity, sweet tannin in abundance, density, smoothness, and great persistence. Everything is an example of concentration and elegance in a wine with a matchless persistence being left a harmonious last taste.
